Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease. But what is different about Crohn's disease?

Crohn's disease causes inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract – from the oral cavity to the anus. The disease most commonly affects the last section of the small intestine. Crohn's disease is a chronic disease that usually progresses in recurring episodes and in stages, meaning diseased sections of the bowel alternate with healthy ones.
