Acne inversa

Description

Acne inversa is a chronic inflammatory disease. But what does this disease actually do to the body?

Among specialists acne inversa is also known as hidradenitis suppurativa, roughly translated as "purulent erysipelas". In hairy body fold areas in particular (armpits, groin, anal and genital area), painful lumps, accumulations of pus and scarring occur in those affected – in men mostly in the anal and genital area, in women primarily in the armpit area. Acne inversa is a chronic disease that usually occurs in recurring episodes.
